With apt understanding of how light affects color perception, Melina creates magical scenes that are impossible to tear your eyes away from. She works hard with choreographers to make sure that their visions are achieved and the message is received by audiences.

As a lighting designer, Melina values the way color affects the skin of her performers. To her, it is of the utmost importance to make sure that the performers onstage are perceived in an appropriately flattering light so that they may perform with confidence. Her best skill is the understanding she has of people’s undertones and how light can change a person’s appearance.

Melina understands the need for a musical to have a large affect on an audience. The musical scenes must be lit well and be able to transport the audience to the realm of the show. Using moving lights, LEDs, and incandescent lighting fixtures, Melina has mastered this craft. Her main goal is to create a spectacle, a moment the audience will not soon forget.
